Description:	Michael German commenced his own business in 1972 after having worked for over twenty years in the Internationally renowned "P.C.L. German Antiques" of London. As a second generation specialist dealer he started specialising in walking canes in the early 1970s. Starting with a small customer base at that time, the business has expanded internationally with client collector's world wide. During this period several books have been published on the subject, and various conferences for collector's have taken place in the USA, Germany, Belgium and Austria. After operating from the Bond Street and Knightsbridge areas of London, he moved the business to its present location in Kensington Church Street in 1982. He is a member of the vetting Committees at the Grosvenor House Antiques fair, the BADA Fair, and the three yearly Olympia Fairs. In 1996 he was joined by his son-in-law Dominic Strickland.
