Born in 1952 in London. Been variously involved in the music business and then television (starting with the glorious Malcolm Gerrie) and movies; ran the London Screenwriters' Workshop in the early 1990s; subsequently approached by Hodder & Stoughton to pen Teach Yourself Screenwriting (1995 to present) - now an international best seller [even if I do say it myself]. Taught and lectured in the UK, Europe (esp. Spain) and USA (New York, Boston, north-eartesrn seaboard). Probably more respected (famous?) abroad than I am in the UK - oh well, that's how it goes... Interestingly, lately, people seem to want to photograph me / interview me / make films about me. Odd - but they pay me!. Am seriously considering a move abroad (USA? Caribbean? Berlin? Italy? before the end of 2010...so give me a reason to stay in the UK?).
